Going Analog

Updated: Jun 11

Old analog camera

Last week, I added an analog camera to my collection!

I still have a lot to figure out and learn, but I’m already loving it!

It definitely takes some getting used to — not being able to see the photo right away,

but I think that’s exactly what makes it so special!

Ever since I was little, I’ve had a soft spot for vintage and those beautiful old-school colors.

I sometimes joke with my partner that I probably would’ve been happier living in the '60s or '70s!

Old cars, quiet streets, kids dressed in adorable outfits — or little rascals — playing freely outside.

I really have a thing for it. Nostalgia.

Of course, back then it probably didn’t feel all that charming — so it’s a bit of a romanticized idea, I know. But somehow, the photos from those times feel so much richer in atmosphere.More mysterious. More beautiful colors, too.

That cinematic quality — I just love it.

And of course, that’s exactly why more and more photographers are returning to analog photography.

In my photo edits, I often try to bring in those vintage tones.I also like to add a bit of grain or noise.

But I’m also the kind of person who quickly starts wondering whether others might not like it...Maybe they’ll think it’s too edited.

I often notice that I end up holding back because of that.

At the same time, I’m starting to get a clearer sense of what I really want to create.

That I should focus on what I’m most passionate about and let that grow naturally —without immediately putting limits on myself.

With that comes a growing desire to experiment more, and I think the possibilities that come with film rolls really add something special!

You just don’t get that same effect with digital editing.

So, I’m going to experiment with the camera and different rolls of film for a while, and see how I like it and what comes out of it.

Keep you posted!
