Hi! I’m Saskia van de Staak.
Mama to two sweet boys and partner to Rob, with whom I've been for over 13 wonderful years.

I worked for over 20 years as a doctor’s assistant.
But I’ve always been a deeply creative soul.
Along the way, I completed a degree in Musical Theatre at the Conservatory in Tilburg, and later graduated from the Photography Academy at Beeldcentrum.

I've always been drawn to the magic of theatre —
the lighting, the atmosphere, the emotions it evokes.
But I often felt like I had to become someone else on stage, when really, I just wanted to be myself.
I prefer to watch others, to see all the beauty around us.

For me, it’s all about the image. Capturing moments.
Emotion in a single frame.
In my photography, I’m always searching for the most beautiful light —
the truest, most heartfelt moments.

I want to tell real stories through my photos...
My work is inspired by the look and feel of film or analog photography.
I also shoot on film, and honestly, I wish I could do it more often!
There’s just something magical about the atmosphere —
the imperfections, the colors, the grain or noise, the soft focus...
